SEN Teaching Assistant - High School - Rochdale

Location: Rochdale
Start Date: September 2025
⏰ Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Salary: £95-£110 per day (depending on experience)
Setting: Mainstream High School - SEN Provision

A forward-thinking high school in Rochdale is looking for a skilled and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with special educational needs, including those with challenging behaviour, within a mainstream secondary setting.

Key Responsibilities:

-Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN across KS3 and KS4

-Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD and SEMH needs, both in class and in a specialist provision

-Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation, using Team Teach strategies

-Building positive relationships with pupils, encouraging engagement and participation

-Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and pastoral teams to implement support strategies

Essential Requirements:

-Team Teach trained (or equivalent positive handling qualification)

-Previous experience supporting students with SEN and challenging behaviour

-A calm, patient and resilient approach to supporting young people

-Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

-Ability to adapt and work well as part of a school SEN team
