SEN Teaching Assistant


Location: Old Trafford
Contract: Full-time, long-term supply (Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, term-time)
Pay: £105 per day
Start date: September 2025

A vibrant and supportive primary school in Old Trafford is looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This school is proud of its inclusive ethos and is committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of their needs, has the opportunity to succeed and feel valued.

The successful candidate will provide vital support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism spectrum condition (ASC), sensory processing differences, and speech and communication challenges. You will be part of a dedicated staff team who work together to create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment.

Key responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support, delivering tailored learning activities
- Using communication methods such as PECS and Makaton to support understanding
- Assisting pupils with sensory regulation and emotional well-being throughout the school day
- Supporting the delivery of personalised education and behaviour plans
- Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and other support staff to ensure consistency and progress

The successful applicant will:

· Have experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism or complex needs

· Have a calm, proactive and resilient with a person-centred approach

· Have right to work in the UK and full-time availability

· PECS, Makaton, BSL or AAC training (desirable)

· Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification (desirable)

· MAPA, Team-Teach, or similar de-escalation training (desirable)
