£14.85 per hour | 40 hours per week | Monday–Friday
The Role
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Head Barista to lead our coffee operations at the Shell Centre in Waterloo. You’ll be responsible for delivering consistently high-quality coffee and customer experiences, managing stock and menus, and leading a team of Baristas and Food Service Assistants.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced barista with leadership skills to take the next step in their career — and enjoy a Monday to Friday schedule with no weekends.
What you’ll do
Lead the day-to-day running of two busy coffee shops, ensuring service and quality meet brand standards.
Make and serve excellent coffee, while training and supporting your team to do the same.
Manage stock, ordering, menu planning, and compliance paperwork.
Support the Catering Manager with events, marketing initiatives, and operational improvements.
Motivate your team and create a positive, customer-focused environment.
Ensure health, safety, and food hygiene standards are always met.
What we’re looking for
Proven barista experience in a high-volume coffee, catering, or hospitality environment.
Strong leadership skills with experience supervising or mentoring a team.
Knowledge of current coffee and catering trends.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Comfortable with stock control, ordering, and basic administration.
Awareness of food hygiene and health & safety compliance.
(Bonus points if you have a food hygiene certificate, experience delivering training, or budget/financial awareness.)
