Key responsibilities:

Responsible for career management advice and the associated Joint Personnel Admin (JPA) inputs specifically for the Regular, Army Reserve, Army Cadet Force (ACF) and Combined Cadet Forces (CCF) Military Personnel within HQ North Area of Responsibility (AoR).
Provide timely and accurate Line Management support to 1 x Admin Officer.
The Implementation and promulgation of Military Secretariat (MS) policy and the provision of career management advice for all Officers (Regular/Reserve) and Army Reserves Soldiers within HQ North, providing MS specific JPA support as required.
Prepare the necessary documentation for all HQ Boards, E2 (Employment 2) Reserve appointments, promotions and annual Order of Merit. Provide the appropriate career management advice to all regional Units.
Provide the appropriate career management advice to all regional Unit.
Provide Terms and Conditions of Service (TACOS) advice and JPA administrative assistance to CCF Officers and their Permanent Support Staff.
Assist with the delivery of Unit MS self-assessment as directed by the Army Personnel Centre (APC) mandated assurance regime.
Oversee the HQ establishment and Workforce Planning, providing advice and checking forthcoming gaps are advertised, with documentation provided for the selection board.
Act as the Information Asset Owner for the MS Branch on the Army Information Asset Register.
Process applications from Regular soldiers seeking a ‘Late Entry’ commission or Reserve soldiers seeking a ‘Senior Soldier Entry’ commission.
Staff applications for military Honours and Awards submissions and promulgate the results.
Provide advice on the military annual reporting process. Support Senior Leadership Team in meeting their annual report writing objectives and ensure all appraisals are quality checked in line with policy (Joint Service Publication 757).
Deliver appraisal report writing training as required.
Advertise all Army Reserve appointments within HQ North for the ranks of Warrant Officer and Junior Captain positions.
Act as the digital transformation lead and Army Talent Management System Co-ordinator for the Headquarters.
Provide APC appointment boards with Briefing Notes, Job Specs and be prepared to assist with appointment prioritisation if requested.
Plan and conduct Annual Grading Boards for Majors, Captains (Pan HQ) and Warrant Officers of the HQ. Conduct at least 2 Regional Assessment Boards per year and Out of Committee boards as required.
Provide advice to the Senior leadership teams within the HQ and regional units on Non-Regular Permanent Staff, Full Time Reserve Service, and Reservist TACOS.
Assist MS Hons with the recruitment, management, and the retirement of senior Honorary officers.
Communicate effectively with diverse groups of people, within and outside the MoD, and across many grades and ranks.
