We are looking for an ambitious Graduate Planner to join our growing Infrastructure Consents teams in Leeds and London

The world around us is changing, as can be seen in news reports every day. The infrastructure that moves us around, provides us
with our energy and clean water, processes our refuse and waste and which allows us to communicate, needs to be modernised and
upgraded to keep up.




The team:




Our infrastructure team is the fastest growing of its kind in the country, now with 180 people in seven offices around the UK,
working with major clients including Network Rail, HS2, National Highways, National Grid, Severn Trent Water, and the Crown
Estate. Operating in both rural and urban environments, our infrastructure graduates are directly involved in delivering the world
we need for the 21st Century and beyond. We cover an array of services to clients within the following sectors:

* Energy - Minerals & Waste – Regeneration – Telecommunications – Utilities – Transport –
* Geospatial / GIS - Property Asset management






The role:




This is a varied and interesting graduate role providing support to the infrastructure consenting team with planning applications
and projects. In addition, the planning team will support graduates towards achieving MRTPI qualification.




Main tasks:




* Working with project and client teams and liaising and communicating with clients and providing professional planning advice to
clients on a variety of planning matters
* Supporting enquiries from prospective clients, reviewing and assessing their proposals and supporting the preparation of fee
proposals for them
* Briefing, liaising with and managing external consultants responsible for producing work to support clients’ planning
applications and appeals
* Negotiating with local authorities and consultees on behalf of clients in the preparation and management of planning
applications, appeals and representations
* Preparing and assisting with planning appeals via the written representations, informal hearings and public inquiry procedures
* Making representations on behalf of clients to Local Plan consultations and representing clients through the public examination
process
* Managing own fee income by monitoring progress towards targets ensuring timely invoicing of work







What will it take to be successful?




You will ideally have an RTPI recognised degree or be willing to study towards an accredited degree, you will also ideally have
experience within a planning team gained through work experience or placements. It is essential that you have a full UK driving
license.
