The Imaging General Manager will be managerially and professionally responsible for the leadership and clinical effectiveness of all the non-medical imaging staff within Radiology excluding Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine. The Imaging General Manager will be an integral member of the Radiology senior management team and will work closely with the Associate Director of Operations and Director of Operations of the Clinical and Diagnostic Board. The Diagnostic Imaging Manager will be expected to provide effective clinical leadership in conjunction with the Speciality Leads and will be supported with business and operational matters by the Associate Director of Operations for Radiology. The post-holder will be responsible for the development and delivery of clinical and professional standards, delivery of safe and high-quality care, ensuring safe, effective and seamless pathways for patients, and will lead to the modernisation of the workforce and diagnostic imaging. As part of the senior management team, the post-holder will be responsible for supporting business planning, leading workforce planning and maximising service opportunities and potential. This will be in line with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, resource controls and constraints and will contribute to delivering the management strategy of patient services within the care group. To lead, inspire and motivate others to high performance by agreeing clear goals and objectives, providing support and guidance and creating opportunities for development. To contribute to the development of a culture of high engagement, where staff are empowered and entrusted to provide the best services and care for patients. To promote and facilitate innovation and continuous improvement to deliver better services for service users and patients. Accountability for the leadership of post holders staff / teams / departments. The post holder will ensure that all Research and Development opportunities within the service are managed in line with Trust policies and seek opportunities for service improvement through research and development. Ensure the infrastructure, audits, policies and processes are in place to ensure the department is complaint with respective legislation for example Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017, the Ionising Radiation Medical Exposure Regulations 2017. You may also need to travel between Trust premises as required for the performance of your duties. You may also be expected to work at any of the trust sites. The Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role.
