DUTIES
Deliver high-quality and engaging lessons in electrical theory, practical skills, and safety procedures to learners at all levels (e.g., beginners, apprentices, or advanced students).
Design, review, and update teaching materials, lesson plans, and assessments in line with relevant curriculum standards (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
Provide one-to-one and group support to learners, including additional tutoring where necessary, to help them reach their full potential.
Assess learner work, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of progress and achievement.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, promoting safe working practices in practical sessions.
Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and developments, integrating relevant changes into the curriculum.
Prepare learners for assessments, practical exams, and employment through structured support and guidance.
Collaborate with colleagues, industry partners, and awarding bodies to ensure best practices and alignment with employability standards.
Monitor learner progress and retention rates, contributing to quality assurance and continuous improvement processes.
Conduct learner inductions and manage associated administrative tasks efficiently.
Deliver learning sessions according to a planned timetable as agreed with the line manager.
Work with the Academy Manager and team members to deliver qualifications meeting both Learning Curve Group and awarding body requirements.
Create and maintain Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), incorporating SMART targets and regular review checkpoints.
Accurately complete attendance registers and required documentation, ensuring timely communication with relevant teams.
Monitor and report on learner attendance and performance, providing regular updates to management.
Implement systems to support learner retention, achievement, and progression.
Complete assessments and documentation within required deadlines to meet awarding body and organizational standards.
Submit learner portfolios for interim and final verification in accordance with internal moderation requirements.
Participate in learner disciplinary procedures when necessary.
Maintain a current log of departmental equipment, taking measures to prevent loss or theft.
Attend standardisation meetings and staff briefings at designated centers.
Take part in internal moderation and quality assurance activities as required.
Promote and maintain a safe working environment in line with current health and safety legislation, including regular inspections and risk assessments.
Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain accurate CPD records.
Ensure the learning environment remains clean, safe, and well-maintained for both staff and learners.
Support weekend course delivery on a rotational basis as required.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by management.
Provide support, advice, and guidance to learners, colleagues, and stakeholders as part of everyday responsibilities.
