Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Cook / Chef to join the kitchen team within our popular and highly rated cafe in Whitehaven town centre.. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a flair for creating delicious meals that delight our customers. You will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Working 5 days per week (2 days per week off) which includes Saturdays. No Sundays or Split Shifts and we will also consider part-time if that suit you better.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the menu and customer preferences.
Oversee kitchen operations, including meal preparation and presentation.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
Assist in menu planning and development.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques and best practices.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Maintain a positive working environment that promotes teamwork and creativity.
Skills
Experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen setting.
Strong cooking skills with a passion for creating tasty and well presented food.
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
A creative mindset with the ability to adapt recipes to meet dietary requirements or preferences.
