Join us as an Infrastructure Network Management Engineer
- In this engaging role, you’ll be the lead technical subject matter expert within the bank responsible for SolarWinds products covering all development and operational activities
- You’ll lead all maintenance and upgrades for the product and services ensuring the platform is stable and secure, operating within the bank guidelines and providing training for colleagues

What you'll do
As an Infrastructure Network Management Engineer, you’ll contribute to and manage the selection, creation, and maintenance of technologies required to meet the needs of our customers, strategic targets, and architecture outcomes. You’ll also be responsible for developing products, and for the day-to-day support and maintenance of Network Management tool SolarWinds and its integration into our platforms for automatic incident creation and alerting.
We’ll look to you to collaborate with stakeholders to develop product roadmaps and manage the lifecycle of the support engineered products, responding to colleague feedback and new feature requests, resolving production issues, and helping customers consume our products. You’ll also take a lead technical role in programme increment planning, system demos, and retrospective sessions.
Additionally, you’ll:
- Lead the team to design and engineer intuitive, self-service infrastructure products using SolarWinds
- Champion and drive the use of automation to provide testing and a route to live for the product along with coaching and mentoring other engineers and collaborating on developmental activities
- Perform upgrades and migration of SolarWinds products and develop standards for dashboard and reporting designs
- Proactively scan the external market and use internal insights, translating these into customer centric products
- Develop technical skills through continuous learning and development
- Provide technical leadership in the development of high availability, using automation to contribute to the delivery monitoring and management of the network estate
The skills you'll need
To thrive in this role, you’ll have experience of SolarWinds in a large enterprise network managing 5,000+ nodes as well as an understanding of the development of custom reports writing SQL queries and Python scripts or Shell. You’ll be a strong team leader who can manage a diverse team responsible for the service SolarWinds delivers to the Network teams globally.
You’ll be a strong collaborative communicator who can articulate technical concepts clearly to peers and customers. We’ll also expect you to have a strong understanding of Agile working practices and toolsets with the ability to create the vision for the Release Train, feature team, platform and domain. Public cloud vendor knowledge covering GCP, AWS, and Azure would be beneficial.
Furthermore, you’ll need:
- Excellence in the use of change management processes and associated risks when implementing bulk changes across the network operating all hours
- Experience of the development of CI or CD pipelines using modern tooling and an understanding of Cisco & Arista network products
- Experience with software testing practices and tools, using observability tools and techniques, and using data, information, and user sentiment to continuously improve solutions
- Experience of working with networking and security technologies deployed to an on premise datacentre and offices, along with a good understanding of protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, DNS, and HTTP
