Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a highly organised and proactive Production Planner on behalf of our client, a well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing company based in Newton Abbot (Heathfield).

About the Role:

As Production Planner, you will play a key role in managing and improving the manufacturing planning process. Working closely with departments including procurement, logistics, and quality control, you will ensure production schedules are met, materials are available, and output is optimised.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with excellent ERP/MRP knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for production excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage robust production schedules aligned with customer demand and production efficiency.
  • Ensure labour and material requirements are in place, highlighting any shortages.
  • Evaluate bill of materials and raw material stock to prevent disruption.
  • Track and report the status of manufacturing jobs, ensuring deadlines are met and communicating issues across teams.
  • Review supplier and production performance, recommending process improvements.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and adjust plans as needed to maximise production output.
  • Generate, analyse, and distribute key production KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in a relevant field (e.g., supply chain, operations, engineering).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a production planning or coordination role.
  • Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multiple departments.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques.
