Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people at risk of serious youth violence? Hays is recruiting a Project Support Officer to help deliver the SAFE Taskforce programme for a local council.
This initiative is funded by the Department for Education and delivered through two strategic tracks:
- Track 1:Grants to schools to sustain evidence-based interventions that enhance pupil attendance, behaviour, and socio-emotional wellbeing.
- Track 2: Commissioning a framework of providers to deliver high-impact, evidence-based interventions across Birmingham.
About the Role
As Project Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the SAFE Taskforce delivers high-quality interventions on time and within budget. You will:
- Support the Commissioning Lead in managing delivery, quality assurance, and budget tracking.
- Monitor programme risks and report progress to the Department for Education.
- Provide secretariat support for Taskforce meetings and coordinate across stakeholders.
- Lead on project management and relationship-building with partner schools and intervention providers.
- Help shape an ambitious delivery plan and ensure milestones are met.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in social care, local authority environments, and safeguarding.
- Strong understanding of DfE's Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
- Insight into the challenges faced by children and young people at risk of exclusion.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
