The postholder would be expected to work with experts-by-experience, local communities, Community, Voluntary and Social Enterprises, to co-produce and co-develop services. The post holder will be involved in partnership working, liaising with various stakeholders in the system, e.g. GPs, primary and secondary care mental health services, schools and colleges and the 3rd sector providers. The post holder will also be involved in raising the awareness of the complexity of the health and social challenges people with neurodiversity face and the impact this has on mental health and well-being and vice versa. The post holder will directly contribute to the positive working environment within the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will require a high degree of professional autonomy and self-management, and will be required to account for their professional practice through appraisal and audit. For one day a week the post-holder will be based in the Well-being and Mental Health in Schools Service (WAMHS). WAMHS has a particular focus on whole school approaches to mental health and well-being through the provision of staff training, reflective practice. This will likely be a day a week in a secondary school in City & Hackney. This role aims to develop and sustain closer working links between CAMHS and education by providing training, consultation and support, signposting and liaison, especially regarding neurodevelopmental conditions. It also involves working closely with practitioners in the Mental Health in Schools Team. WAMHS is part of an exciting programme funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community.
