The team
CPR is a supportive and inclusive department that encourages our teams’ health, safety, wellbeing, and development. We aim to contribute to the circular economy by providing clear, consistent and effective regulation to reduce packaging waste. We help to protect and improve the environment by regulating industry, ensuring compliance, and eliminating illegal activities.
We sit within Waste Markets and Shipments who regulate key areas: Packaging, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, Batteries and International Waste Shipments.
Experience/skills required
We need individuals able to demonstrate the following:
•Ability to analyse large complex data sets to ensure the accuracy and integrity of submissions
•Ability to coordinate the collection, assessment, reporting and saving of complex data in line with internal guidance
•A collaborative mindset, able to work across teams to tackle technical issues and deliver outcomes
•Articulate in both written and verbal formats, with strong interpersonal skills
•Experience in coaching others, delivering training and providing technical guidance
•Ability to be organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines
•Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
•Experience in supporting and influencing others to deliver based on priority
•Excellent customer service skills
•Experience of working with Microsoft packages is essential (Excel and Teams)
•Experience of working with customers and colleagues to achieve compliance with regulatory requirements is desirable
•Experience of working within Waste Regulation is desirable.

You’ll play a key role in delivering the Extended Producer Responsibility Regulations for Packaging Producers.
As a regulatory officer you’ll:
· Specialise in analysing large data sets submitted by Packaging Producer Compliance Schemes, identifying and resolving anomalies to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
· Conduct audits to ensure schemes are meeting their regulatory obligations
· Use complex data to make evidence-based decisions and drive environmental outcomes
· Communicate regularly with internal/external customers and answer technical queries
· Co-ordinate and deliver regulatory processes, offering coaching and support to colleagues to meet statutory deadlines
Strong analytical skills and experience of working with large data sets are essential. You’ll be helping producers comply with the regulations, reduce environmental impact, and contribute to a more sustainable future.
