The Vehicle Certification Agency are looking to appoint a Central Quality Co-ordinator. This role sits under the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer. Central Quality coordinates the achievement and maintenance of our global accreditations and certifications.
Central Quality is responsible for all matters relating to the management and maintenance of the VCA’s current and future accreditations with the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), Accredia, and as required with other Accreditation Bodies. Central Quality manages and maintains the internal Quality System, which includes the planning and execution of the VCA Internal Audit programme, as well as hosting external accreditation audits.
We are responsible for all matters relating to VCA confidentiality, conflicts of interest and complaint handling.
Fundamental to the Quality system is the Agency’s Document Control and Records Management process, which the Central Quality Co-ordinator manages through the Business and Quality Management System to ensure continued compliance with internal quality procedures and external accreditations such as ISO 9001, ISO 17020, ISO 17021& ISO 17025.
The role is a supporting function to the Head of Central Quality, and the Deputy.
Your main duties will include but will not be limited to:
Agency Records Officer (ARO)
- Document Control – Proactively encourage the VCA globally to manage their documents and records. Administer the document management system. Act as expert user and train VCA staff. Also, manage the account for historic paper records held with an external physical records storage provider.
Quality
- The post holder will be trained in internal audit processes, and will be required to sit an auditor course, and conduct internal audits across VCA sites.
- Track and report progress of Audits and Findings, within the given timescales. Prepare reports as required for management at all levels, overseen by DHCQ.
Administration
- Support External Accreditation Audits. Raising job numbers. Raising purchase orders. Arranging audit related courses and distribution and storage of certificates and competency records.
