SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT L1 – MATERNITY COVER
TEMPORARY POST (Until July 2026)
Starting: 28th October 2025
Netherhall Mead is a very effective, well-resourced special school for pupils aged 4-19 years who have severe & profound learning difficulties.
The school is seeking to appoint Level 1 Teaching Assistant working 32½ hours per week for 39 weeks (school term time + 5 training days). The position is temporary, with the potential to become permanent, subject to the needs of the school.Salary: Grade Band 4, Points 7 - 10, £20,168 - £21,499 pro-rata.
The successful candidate will have good basic education.Previous experience of working as a Teaching Assistant is desirable but not essential. If you feel you possess the qualities as per the job specification and are passionate about working alongside pupils with SEND then everyone at Netherhall Mead would like to hear from you. Interview date: W/C 29th September 2025
The successful applicant will need to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure via the DBS check.
Applicants will also be required to undertake pre-employment checks which will include a declaration that neither they, nor anyone who lives in the same household, is a disqualified person under the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2018 as well as other necessary checks.
Online checks will also be carried out on shortlisted candidates in line with KCSIE recommendations.
