A Vacancy at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Are you passionate about protecting data, enabling ethical information use and supporting high quality care through sound governance? WWL is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Information Governance officer to join our dedicated team.
In this role you'll help ensure the Trust meets its data protection, confidentiality and information security obligations. From advising staff on IG best practices to supporting Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests, supporting the completion of DPIA's and supporting the completion of the DSPT / CAF.
Whether you're building on previous IG experience or stepping up into a more senior role, this is a brilliant opportunity to make real impact and frow your expertise. You'll work alongside supportive colleagues in a forward-thinking team that values collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
This hybrid role offers the best of both worlds - the flexibility to work remotely alongside the opportunity to collaborate on site with a supportive and experienced IG team.
If you're ready to champion good Information Governance and help shape how the Trust uses and protects data, we'd love to hear from you.
We require a knowledgeable, highly motivated and well organised individual to work in this busy and dynamic environment.
You will have excellent interpersonal and excel skills with an ability to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders including our staff, patients, subject matter experts, health care providers, police and other third parties in the protection and provision of information. In addition, you will be required to provide training sessions and communications on the importance of maintaining confidentiality and appropriately accessing records.
A previous working knowledge and experience in Data Protection, Information Governance and interest in the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation and DP 2018 will all be essential criteria for any applicant.
As well as the above specialist expertise the ideal candidate will be an excellent team worker able to bring colleagues together from across a diverse organisation to ensure all matters of information governance are managed safely.
