We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a skilled and time served Bench Hand Joiner / Woodworker / Carpenter who has an eye for details, proven joinery experience and has good knowledge of different types of wood and substrates and their characteristics.
The company makes bespoke display items, window theatre and internal signage primarily for retail display purposes. They are a one stop shop for their customers and have a variety of different departments including digital print, spray shop, CNC and joinery department.
As a Bench Hand Joiner / Woodworker / Carpenter you will excel in a workshop environment but also enjoy the satisfaction of on-site installation, from time to time.
We are looking for someone with a proven background as a Carpenter or Joiner who is proficient in operating a variety of machinery, including table saws, chop saws, and planers. Your ability to interpret technical drawings and work to tight deadlines is essential, ensuring the highest standards of precision and quality in every project.
Whether you've previously worked as a Bench Hand Joiner, Woodworker, Carpenter, Wood Machinist, Wood Fabricator, Furniture Maker, or Cabinet Maker, your expertise is what we're after. You'll work collaboratively with a small team, but also possess the initiative to work unsupervised when needed. The role requires a strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work area.

DUTIES
Your duties as Bench Hand Joiner / Woodworker / Carpenter include:
• Teamwork: You'll work closely with a small team of joiners, reporting to the department supervisor or production manager. The role requires the flexibility to work independently when needed, but also to collaborate effectively as part of the team
• Machinery Expertise: You must have experience operating woodworking machinery, with proficiency in using a table saw being essential. Any experience with chop saws, planers, spindle moulders, and edge banders would be a distinct advantage
• Technical Drawings: A core part of the role is your ability to accurately interpret technical drawings to ensure precision and quality in your work
• Project Deadlines: You will be expected to work efficiently and to deadlines, managing your time to ensure projects are completed on schedule
• On-Site Installation: From time to time, you'll be required to assist with on-site installations, so a willingness to work away from the workshop is necessary
• Flexibility and Collaboration: We're looking for someone who is willing to work overtime as and when required to meet project demands. You'll also need to collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth project delivery
• Safety and Cleanliness: You must be committed to following all safety guidelines and maintaining a clean and organised work area at all times
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Proven experience as a joiner or carpenter
• Proficient in using hand and power tools
