Crynodeb

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Bystronic Laser Operative to join our client on a temporary ongoing basis. The working hours for this role are Monday to Thursday 6pm-2.30am and 6pm-11pm on Fridays. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating Bystronic CNC laser cutting machines to produce metal parts and components to precise specifications. You will ensure the equipment is running efficiently, perform routine maintenance, and adhere to all safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Bystronic laser cutting machines (CO2 or fiber) to cut sheet metal parts according to engineering drawings or production orders.
• Load and unload materials safely onto the machine using appropriate handling equipment.
• Interpret and understand technical drawings, work orders, and job travelers.
• Set up machine parameters and adjust laser settings for various materials (e.g., mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum).
• Monitor machine performance and cut quality during operations.
• Perform first-off inspection and in-process checks using measuring tools (e.g., calipers, tape measure, micrometers).
• Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of the laser machine.
• Report machine malfunctions or quality issues to supervisors.
• Ensure production deadlines are met while maintaining quality and efficiency.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience operating Bystronic laser cutting machines (minimum 1-2 years preferred).
• Familiarity with CNC machine controls and laser cutting software (e.g., BySoft).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of sheet metal materials and cutting parameters.
• Basic understanding of maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
