Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic Clinical Fellow Doctor in Obstetric Ultrasound to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team for 12 months Fixed Term, available from September 2025. There is a possibility for a further extension beyond the 12 months. This post will primarily be based at the brand new O&G Department, Stoke Mandeville Hospital, with some work commitments at Wycombe Hospital.
This will be an excellent opportunity for those wishing to have out of programme experience (OOPE), post CCT trainees or non-training grade doctors who wish to pursue the CESR pathway and with prior NHS O&G experience.
The successful applicant will undertake a range of activity in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with four protected sessions for obstetric ultrasound. They will be supported towards completion of the Special Interest Training Module (SITM) in Fetal Care. They will also participate in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology on call rota.

The successful applicant will undertake a range of activity in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with four protected sessions for obstetric ultrasound per week. They will be supported towards completion of the Special Interest Training Module (SITM) in Fetal Care.
They will be expected to participate fully in the provision of general services in obstetrics and gynaecology for the population within the catchment area of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital with outpatients and elective surgery based at Wycombe Hospital. The post carries a balanced job plan for the appointee and can be adapted to suit their special interests. The successful candidate will participate in a two tier, full shift rota (1 in 8) of 16 Registrars/Specialty Doctors. This post also offers the opportunity to develop managerial and leadership skills.

• Obstetric ultrasound sessions, two per week - will be expected to perform fetal growth scans and trained accordingly.
• Appropriate clinical responsibility for the care of patients delegated by the consultant to their charge. Co-responsibility for the proper functioning of the department, including supervision of more junior medical staff.
• Running of labour ward with consultant cover on-site during the day, consultant off-site after hours.
• Clinical duties may be at Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville hospital sites, with the on-calls at Stoke Mandeville.
• Participation in clinical audit.
• Attendance at clinical meetings and case conferences as appropriate.
• Working within the multidisciplinary team.
• Co-ordinating appropriate medical, surgical and allied disciplines concerned with patient care and communicating appropriately with general practitioners and community agencies.
• Clinic duties such as gynaecology and ante-natal clinics, as well as some specialist clinics. Some gynae clinics are off site.
