Crynodeb
Provide an advanced clinical pharmacy service to theSurgical Division, in line with professional standards, departmental procedures, and Trust policies. Deliver highly specialist pharmaceutical advice to medical, nursing, and allied health professionals within surgical specialties, and where appropriate, to General Practitioners and other healthcare staff across the Trust. Act as anindependent prescriber , in accordance with the Trusts Non-Medical Prescribing policies and guidelines, to support the optimisation of medicines use in surgical patients. Support the safe and effective use of high-risk medicines and participate intherapeutic drug monitoringservices relevant to surgical care, including antimicrobials such as gentamicin, in line with departmental protocols. Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines, protocols, and audits to improve medicines optimisation and patient safety within surgery. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless pharmaceutical care across the surgical patient pathway, including pre-operative assessment, intra-operative support, and post-operative recovery. Support the training and development of junior pharmacists, pre-registration trainees, and other pharmacy staff working within the surgical division.
