Crynodeb
The following are the core responsibilities of the Practice Nurse. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels: Key responsibilities: Chronic disease management Treatment room services (i.e. wound care, ulcer care) Cervical smears Childhood immunisations Assisting GPs with coil fitting/removal, implant fitting/removal and other minor surgery procedures Pathology requests and diagnostic procedures Participation in multi-disciplinary team and clinical meetings Working as part of a team as well as independently On occasion there may be a requirement to undertake home visits Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times Desirable: Respiratory care (COPD/Asthma) Diabetes
