We are seeking a motivated Chef to join our kitchen team, working primarily on breakfast and lunch service for a small site with 300-400 people on site daily.

Job Description

This role will focus largely on preparing grab-and-go items, such as sandwiches, homemade baguettes, and other quick-service meals.​

The successful candidate will assist in the production and service of meals within budgetary guidelines while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.​

Working closely with a team of six, the Chef will contribute to the smooth running of the kitchen, ensuring that all food service operations comply with company standards, client requirements, and statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation, production, and presentation of meals.

Support breakfast and lunch service, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output.

Serve customers in a professional and friendly manner at service counters.

Ensure adequate supplies and stock levels throughout service periods.

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, kitchen, and catering areas.

Comply with all Company standards, statutory Food Safety, Health & Safety, COSHH, and Manual Handling regulations.

Monitor food production and costs to ensure compliance with agreed budgetary standards.

Work under minimal supervision and collaboratively within the team to achieve operational goals.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Previous food service and chef experience, ideally in a similar role or environment.

Clean, well-presented, and professional appearance.

Pleasant, engaging, and effective team player.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.

Understanding of COSHH and Manual Handling procedures.

Commitment to maintaining high food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.

Full, valid driving licence (required due to site location).
