Now Hiring: Experienced Sewing Operative – Milton Keynes
• Monday to Thursday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Friday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Pay Rate: £12.50 – £14.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Newstaff Employment Services is currently recruiting Top Sewing Operatives to join our client’s team in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced sewing professionals to work in a fast-paced and supportive manufacturing environment producing high-quality products for the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and set up industrial sewing machines to produce, Fireblock, Upholstery fabric, for Leather aircraft seat cushion covers
• Be able to Read and interpret work orders, process sheets, patterns, and technical drawings
• Match and prepare materials, including selecting the correct fabric, thread, and needles
• Monitor machine operation and perform basic maintenance
• Inspect finished products and report any defects (e.g., faulty stitching, thread breaks)
• Ensure all work complies with AS9100 Quality Standards
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized
• Perform other related duties as required
Requirements:
• Proven experience using industrial sewing machines (test required)
• Strong attention to detail and high level of craftsmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good standard of spoken and written English
• Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
