Administrative Assistant

35 hours per week

Permanent

£29,010 - £29,594 / £15.90 - £16.22 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

We are looking for a motivated individual to take up the position of the Administrative Assistant within the Corporate Business Support Team.

As part of a small team the successful candidate will provide all aspects of administrative support for Human Resources and Organisational Development and will work closely with the Team Manager, Business Support to ensure the effective, efficient and consistent provision of high-quality business support across a wide range of other services including Chief Executive’s Service, Legal Services, Finance, Enterprise and Economic Growth.

You will need to be able to work under pressure to strict deadlines, use your own initiative, maintain confidentiality and be able to work unsupervised. We are looking for a good communicator and with excellent organisational skills as you will be part of a wider team liaising with a wide range of customers.

Applicants must hold a qualification at SCQF level 5/6 i.e., SVQ2, National 5, Standard Grades, O Grade, Intermediate 2, SVQ3, Higher National Certificate, Foundation Apprenticeship or where this is not held, a minimum of 2 years previous relevant experience of working in an administrative role.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
