Barnet Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker / Advanced Practitioner to join our Intervention & Planning Team within Family Services. This is a vital role supporting children in need (CIN), child protection (CP), and long-term planning, including court work.
What You’ll Do:
Lead complex casework involving CIN, CP, and legal proceedings
Deliver high-quality interventions that safeguard children and promote positive outcomes
Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and partner agencies
Provide expert guidance and mentoring to junior staff
Uphold best practice in line with DfE guidance and statutory frameworks
What We’re Looking For: ✅ Minimum 3 years’ experience in CIN, CP, and Court work ✅ 3 years in a permanent social work role (as per DfE guidance) ✅ SWE registration and a recognised Social Work qualification (Diploma, BA/BSc/MA) ✅ Strong decision-making, emotional intelligence, and leadership skills
