Year 1 - 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Pay: £12.50-£15.00 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Location: Beautiful and Supportive School in Carlisle
Contract: Part-time, Temporary (with strong potential for extension)
Hours: Part time 8.45am to 1.15pm (Monday to Friday)

About the Role:

We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a caring and inclusive primary school, set in the heart of Carlisle. The school is known for its positive ethos, nurturing environment, and dedicated staff team who work collaboratively to support every child’s development. We are seeking a full-time 1:1 Support Assistant to work closely with a Year 1 pupil who has severe learning difficulties and is autistic. This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and patient individual who is passionate about helping children thrive.

Day to day tasks:

Provide individualised support to (EHCP).
Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored strategies that promote progress and well-being.
Support learning both in and outside of the classroom, fostering confidence and independence.
Contribute to a positive, calm, and inclusive learning environment.
Keep accurate records of progress and communicate effectively with the wider team.

What We’re Looking For:

A qualified Teaching Assistant (ideally Level 2 or above), with recent experience supporting KS1 pupils, especially in a 1:1 capacity.
A nurturing, patient and positive mindset.
Flexibility, initiative, and strong teamwork skills.
A commitment to inclusive education and the values of the school community.
Experience supporting pupils with additional needs is highly desirable.
