The Governors of Castle Hill St Philip’s CE Primary School are seeking a Caretaker who will be wholly committed to the school’s interests and the welfare and safety of children and staff. The successful applicant will work under the direction of the Headteacher and School Business Manager as part of an enthusiastic and conscientious team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities are:
- to play a key part in ensuring the school environment is a safe and pleasant place for children, parents, staff and visitors.
- the security of the building and contents, unlocking and locking and managing access to the school grounds during busy periods.
- efficient use of lighting and heating.
- to work with existing cleaners to maintain a high level of cleanliness across the whole school site.
- porterage duties to assist with handling deliveries, etc.
- reporting defects and safety hazards to the School Business Manager to ensure that high standards are maintained.
- routine maintenance and some gardening duties to be undertaken
- to respond to occasional emergency or security call outs.
Flexibility and willingness to work as part of our team are essential as the successful candidate may be required to work additional hours.
Initial hours of work: 7.5 hours per day, weekdays, split shifts, starting 7am and finishing 6.15pm.
Holidays: To be taken in school holidays only, as agreed in accordance with service demands.
