An opportunity to join an experienced, versatile team, delivering first class administration services to our world class Armed Forces personnel.

Position Overview

Based in the Personnel Office HMS Collingwood, this role provides a broad and flexible service to meet the contracted administration requirements of the Armed Forces (predominantly the Royal Navy) and there is the potential to rotate through various elements of professional responsibilities when required to meet the needs of the business. Training can be provided, where appropriate.

Main ResponsibilitiesThe main responsibilities include providing a dedicated day-to-day focal point for personnel administration, which involves direct customer interaction and liaison with coordinators and line managers. The role requires arranging travel using an online booking system and coordinating with booking companies, coordinators, and travelers. Additionally, the position involves collating and maintaining budget-related information and protecting personnel-related data. Data input and updating within the joint-Service administration system are also key duties. The role includes assessing entitlements such as pay, allowances, expenses, promotions, and awards. It is essential to ensure all activities comply fully with current Health and Safety Regulations and the General Data Protection Regulations. Furthermore, the individual will undertake any additional tasks as directed by the Line Manager, including providing support or cover for other staff members.

The successful candidate will be well-organised, precise, confident with credible communication skills readily able and willing to contribute at all levels. In addition, the individual will be versatile, intuitive, and professional with good judgement and absolute integrity. Pro-active and persuasive when required and responsive to changing needs of the business and demands of the customer, while remaining calm under pressure and self-motivated, the incumbent will be reliable and well presented, giving a positive image of MITIE company values. In addition, the following is needed.The ideal candidate will possess strong administration experience, demonstrating excellent organisational and motivational skills, along with a high degree of integrity. They should have a proven track record of delivering quality administration and service, including customer-facing experience. A persuasive and credible communicator, both verbally and in writing, the candidate must be capable of developing close working relationships. Proficiency in IT is essential, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. While not essential, being conversant with or having knowledge of MOD personnel administration applications and systems is desirable. The candidate should take a proactive approach, with the ability to embrace and lead on change, and must be capable of managing last-minute changes to requirements and deadlines. A good standard of education is also required.
