An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an experienced and versatile team dedicated to delivering first-class services to our world-class Armed Forces personnel. Based primarily in an office/storeroom environment at HMS Collingwood, the successful candidate will take on a customer-focused Stores Administrator role, supporting the military community by ensuring the efficient control and availability of stored items. Training will be provided where appropriate.

Position OverviewThe Stores Administrator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including raising purchase orders using the Contracting, Processing & Finance (CP&F) system and demanding specialist equipment using the Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) stores accounting application. These systems are specific to the role, and full training will be provided if required.

The role involves supporting the wider business with purchase order queries, assisting with obtaining quotes, and finalising purchase requisitions for indirect materials. The successful candidate will communicate effectively with stakeholders, suppliers, and users to ensure smooth purchasing processes and business operations. Accurate monitoring and recording of purchase transactions is essential.

The post holder will develop and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders, promoting a culture of customer service excellence. Health and safety compliance is a key part of the role, and the successful candidate will actively adhere to safe working practices and legal requirements. The position may also involve undertaking additional tasks as assigned by the Line Manager, including leading changes to meet emerging business needs.

Candidate ProfileWe are looking for someone who is well-organised, precise, and confident, with excellent communication skills and the ability to contribute effectively at all levels. The ideal candidate will be versatile, intuitive, and professional, displaying good judgement and absolute integrity. A proactive, calm, and self-motivated approach is essential, particularly when responding to changing business needs or customer demands.

The successful candidate will be reliable, presentable, and a strong ambassador of MITIE's values. They must have proven experience in a warehouse or stores environment, and be IT literate with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. A proven track record in delivering quality, customer-facing services is required, as is the ability to adapt to last-minute changes and meet tight deadlines.
