Our client is looking for a talented CVD Engineer. They want to recruit someone with demonstrable experience of developing / producing CVD coatings. If that's you, then you could be exactly what they are looking for.
They are specialists in high purity ceramic coatings, using Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD), producing high purity SiC and TiC coatings on graphite and refractory metal substrates, for the Semiconductor and vacuum furnace industries.
You will report to the General Manager working in their Carluke, Scotland Factory.
In the job you'll be tasked with the following:
- Operating the CVD reactor, with Process Technicians, including:
- Filling and replacement of process gasses.
- Inspecting and preparing parts for coating.
- Loading and unloading the CVD reactor.
- Analysing and documenting coated components.
- Running the coating process.
- Mapping the coating process inside the reactor for continual understanding and improvement of the process.
- Post coating inspection.
- Statistical analysis of coated parts.
- Packing and despatch of components.
- Scheduling of parts to be coated.
- Maintenance of the CVD reactor.
- Improvements to the CVD reactor.
- Fettling of coated parts.
- Adhering to company plans and procedures.
- Technical Support to their larger production facility in Asbach Germany, helping to implement new coatings or help solve existing reactor problems and assist with upgrades as required.
As ideal candidate for this CVD Engineer role, you will have relevant skills and experience in:
- Experience of CVD processing.
- Degree qualified.
- Understanding of Chemical reactions and processes.
- Experience in operating vacuum / deposition systems.
- Experience of high temperature applications and materials - highly desirable.
- Experience / understanding working in the vacuum industry - highly desirable.
- Ability to manage your own workload in a time efficient manner.
- Proactive with excellent attention to detail and good communication skills.
- Report collating and writing.
- A positive attitude and enthusiastic to work in growing company.
- Knowledge of Software - MS Office, 3D CAD, COMSOL or equivalent - desirable but not essential.
- Experience of working within a manufacturing company or similar - preferable.
- Methodical, accurate, diligent, detailed and dedicated.
The standard working hours for this position are 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
Benefits: 25 days per year plus Bank Holidays; On-site parking
