Summary
General Tasks Tasks may include some or all of the following: Gather and share patient feedback to inform safety discussions Represent the views of patients, families, and carers in line with national safety frameworks Attend patient safety meetings as a full participant, reviewing materials and contributing to decisions Support and participate in patient safety projects Occasionally travel to Head Office (expenses reimbursed) Help shape the role as the organisation evolves Skills and experience: A strong interest in patient safety and experience Clear written and verbal communication skills Ability to understand and interpret reports and data Confidence to speak with staff at all levels Ability to represent broader patient perspectives Experience in health advocacy or service improvement is beneficial Training: Mandatory training will be provided A named staff member will offer induction, guidance, and ongoing support Our Expectations of Volunteers: Commit to approximately one day per month (can be split across days) Raise any concerns with staff for appropriate support Engage fully with the role and follow IHG policies and procedures Maintain confidentiality and uphold data protection standards Act as a critical friend offering constructive feedback Bring in wider community perspectives to inform decisions Help identify and promote proactive improvements in patient safety Additional Information: A DBS check and references are required We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to equality and diversity Involvement payments may have tax or benefit implications please seek financial advice if needed Patient Safety Partners will report to the Head of Governance and Quality
