We are currently looking for a Clerk of Works to be part of The Sovini Group.

This position is a permanent.

As a Clerk of Works, you will be expected to:
• Assist the Development team to ensure the Group’s development programme is effectively and efficiently co-ordinated, administered and completed in accordance with required technical standards, specification, and contract documents.
• Provide Building Inspection & Supervision services in relation to the Group’s new build development program. This should include the consideration of the lifespan of the property and future maintenance of the Groups housing stock.
• Provide a customer driven approach to One Vision Housing/ Pine Court Housing residents and customers in relation to new homes and follow up homecare issues. Ensuring that key performance indicators are delivered to Group expectations and support the development team by contributing to the continual improvement of One Vision Housings new homes and approach to repairs.
• Commit to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
• Adhere with the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.

To be successful in a Clerk of Works role, the skills you will need:
• To be educated to GCSE standard or above (5 A*-C Grades) or Equivalent including Mathematics and an English subject.
• CSCS Accredited.
• A proven track record in working within the construction industry with onsite experience.
• Good technical knowledge of building maintenance and an ability to diagnose defects.
• Experience of representing a company at external stakeholder and training events in line with their values.
• Excellent communication and customer care skills – oral, written, numerical, negotiation and telephone manner.
• Excellent IT Skills (including the use of Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint as well as the use of Mobile Devices & Apps).
• Attention to Detail.
• Successful track record of building relationships with tenants/residents/stakeholders and partnership working.
• Working with frequently changing priorities to meet deadlines.
• The ability to work both independently for long periods of time and as part of a team when required.
• Good organisational skills including the ability to prioritise and manage own workload, meet deadlines and achieve targets.
• Ability to liaise effectively with all people both within the organisation and externally.
• A strong internal and external customer focus.
• Demonstrable knowledge of the main principles of Good Practice and continual improvement.
• The ability to work in an agile working environment.
• Team player with the ability to work off own initiative.
• Possess a driving license and have use of own car for work.

Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:
• Relevant construction qualification.
• SMSTS or equivalent qualification.
• Experience of working for a Registered Provider of Social Housing.
• Experience of working in a Social Housing Development Team.
• Willing to undertake any relevant qualification and CPD.
