Personal assistant required for a thirteen-year-old autistic boy who lives in Truro. He has complex needs and a variety of sensory requirements.
He would like someone with whom he can build a relationship and who can provide him with some one-to-one support in the family home and in the local community.
He finds unstructured activities the most challenging to manage, and he benefits and thrives from structured support and routine.
He loves music, art, playing games, doing stop motion animation and playing his guitar.
The rate of pay starts at £13.00 per hour and will increase for the right candidate, depending on their skills and experience.
8 hours per week are available, with flexible hours to accommodate the applicant's schedule. Weekend and school holiday availability will be required.
Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special educational needs would be an advantage.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
