Description

General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a full-time Finance Manager to join our Finance Team. The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary of £45,600 to £60,600 based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally. Joining an established team based at our Oakdale/Merthyr facilities, Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, the Financial Accountant is responsible all aspects of Financial compliance and governance including Audit compliance (Internal and External), Oversight of SoX Controls and compliance, All aspects of cash management and forecasting, oversight of balance sheet and wider financial controls and reconciliations. Managing a small team of Finance staff (Currently 8 staff) including Finance Assistants and the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Teams. Working closely with all areas of Finance, including shared service and Head Office colleagues. This role is the main contact for internal and external Auditors and for the coordination of all Audit responses. If you were already working in this position, this is what you would have been working on this week:
  • Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plan and objectives.
  • Enables decisions on administrative or operational matters.
  • Assists Head of Finance in making sure the organization follows established accounting standards
  • Ensures that the financial and accounting reports and forecasts accurately reflect the financial position of the organization and are prepared on a timely basis
  • Prepare annual performance reviews to all direct reports.
  • Assign responsibility to department staff, delegate appropriate level of authority, and hold individuals accountable for their actions.
  • Responsible for insuring that all EACs and CE data accurately reflects financial status of the business.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of Finance.
To apply for this role, you will require the following:
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified or Qualified by experience
  • Experience of Working at a Supervisory / Senior Level within a Finance Team
  • Industry experience.
  • Staff and/or technical project/process management experience
  • Experience of liaising within Auditors and other External Stakeholders
  • Excellent excel and analytical skills
  • Experience in the use of and development of financial modelling systems and reporting packages.
  • Proven ability to prioritise multiple tasks, set goals and meet deadlines
  • Experience of working within a Matrix style Management structure
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in management and developing staff
  • Oracle Experience
