The Best Connection are looking for a Warehouse Operative to join a family run business based just outside the centre of Derby. For the right candidate this is a temporary to permanent position with lots of potential progression within the company.
- Pay: £13 p/h
- Duration: Temporary to permanent
- Shift: Monday to Friday (08:30 - 17:00)
- Location: Derby
Key Responsibilities of a Warehouse Operative
1. Goods In & Out
· Receive, check, and safely store inbound deliveries.
· Accurately pick, pack, and dispatch orders in line with customer requirements.
· Verify picked orders and manage barcoding to maintain stock integrity.
2. Stock Control & Systems
· Maintain accurate stock levels, carry out regular cycle counts, and support reconciliation
· Use digital systems
3. Warehouse Standards
· Keep all warehouse and racking areas clear, safe, and organised
· Ensure safe loading/unloading of goods using appropriate equipment (FLT licence desirable but not essential)
5. Communication & Teamwork
· Liaise with suppliers, transport partners, and internal teams to resolve issues quickly
· Work closely with colleagues across operations to meet deadlines and customer expectations
· Contribute to a positive, accountable, and high-performing warehouse culture
Key Skills & Competencies of a Warehouse Operative
· Attention to Detail - Accurate picking, stock checks, and record keeping.
· Organisation - Ability to prioritise tasks and maintain a tidy, efficient workspace.
· Communication - Clear with both internal colleagues and external partners.
· Computer literacy is again desirable but not essential.
