Summary


Community Staff Nurse 0-19 Universal Children’s Services

We are currently seeking applications from enthusiastic staff nurses who would like to work in Barking & Dagenham (B&D) in the East Locality alongside our 0-19 skill mix team (Health Visiting and School Nursing). We currently have two vacancies within the team, one full time (37.5 hours) and one 4 days per week (30 hours ).

We have a wide variety of trainings available within the Trust and our partner agencies in order to support your work in improving outcomes for children, young people and their families.



Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement – London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary with a minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941 per annum (pro rata for part-time).

We are looking for dynamic and motivated individuals who are highly skilled in communication, with a strong approach to teamwork. Successful candidates will be able to deliver appropriately delegated commissioned elements of the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) (DH 2009) and have experience in, or have ambition to work in, multi-disciplinary and multi-agency settings. Our nurses require a positive attitude towards actively engaging with a diverse range of clients in our Community.

You will be able to participate in child health screening, health promotion activities and supporting parenting in a variety of environments including the family home, clinics, schools and Family Hubs . Your role will include identifying health needs with children and families and in agreement with the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) across the 0-19 pathway, and you will plan, deliver and review appropriate and evidence based interventions to improve outcomes for children and families.
