Facilities Manager
The Facilities Manager will lead the day-to-day management of Anvil Arts’ venues, making sure they are safe, sustainable, well maintained and welcoming for all. The postholder will oversee facilities operations, compliance, maintenance, contractors, and capital works, while working closely with colleagues across operations and production to achieve shared goals.
They will motivate and develop the in-house facilities team, contribute to long-term planning, and ensure our buildings reflect the highest standards of care, comfort, and presentation — delighting audiences, artists, and visitors. The role combines a hands-on approach with strategic vision to future-proof our venues.
This role would suit someone who has experience in facilities management, enjoys building strong relationships, and making a visible difference to how people experience our spaces.
The Key Objectives of this post are;
To ensure Anvil Arts venues and spaces are fully functional, safe, secure, well maintained and of best presentation throughout
To ensure the safety, security and wellbeing of all staff, visiting companies, contractors, audience and visitors to Anvil Arts venues
To provide effective leadership and day-to-day management of in-house facilities staff, and external contractors ensuring adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and safe working practices
To contribute to the strategic planning and development of Anvil Arts’ venues, ensuring buildings and facilities support high-quality artistic delivery and organisational goals
To ensure planned preventative maintenance is undertaken as well as remedial works to be completed in a timely manner and within allocated budgets
To work with the Production Team to ensure facilities and building infrastructure support technical requirements for productions and events
To ensure the annual Fire Risk Assessment is undertaken, portal kept up to date and all remedial works delegated and actioned in conjunction with Deputy CEO and other departmental managers
To work with the Deputy Chief Executive and other departmental managers in relation to the annual Health and Safety audit and associated actions
To liaise with the Council’s Property Services department in conjunction with the Deputy Chief Executive to ensure that landlord’s and tenant’s obligations under the leases are carried out correctly and in a timely manner and within allocated budgets, while recognising the demands of the events programme
To project manage any buildings projects to successful completion, ensuring safety, quality, budget, and programme requirements are met
To oversee key holding and act as one of the out of hours keyholders managing emergency call outs and appropriate contractor response and escalation
Position Details:
Permanent full-time 37 hours per week -Part time hours may be considered
Salary £37,515
31 days/ 6.2 weeks holiday including bank holidays
