Summary

About you

Are you enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting people in a way which respects their dignity?

You will need to be adaptable, flexible, with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of our team.

Our service is rurally located and there is not always public transport available therefore your own transport would be desirable.

Qualifications

Care experience
First aid certification
Nursing home or care home experience
Experience in providing care for residents diagnosed with learning disabilities
Medication administration skills
Ability to provide home care services
Knowledge of assisted living practices
Experience in patient care
Valid driver's license
Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks
Proficiency in meal preparation
Experience in developing care plans
Skills in behavior management
These qualifications are essential for the role of a Support Worker/Carer, ensuring the ability to provide quality care and support to individuals in need.

The role

Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.
As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.
