Campaigns and Content Manager

Overview

The Judicial Communications team for judges and magistrates is looking for an experienced Campaigns and Content Manager (SIO) to add to a reliable and trusted communications team based at the Royal Courts of Justice.

The Judicial Office is completely independent of the Ministry of Justice and provides a trusted service to the judiciary across England and Wales. The candidate will be joining a multi-disciplinary comms team and be able to access professional support and expertise.

For candidates within the Civil Service this post is available on level transfer or on promotion.

The Judicial Office

The Judicial Office is an arm’s length body of the Ministry of Justice. We are a unique branch of the

civil service, dedicated to supporting the judiciary and promoting judicial independence, to maintain

confidence in the rule of law. We help the Lord Chief Justice and the Senior President of Tribunals

fulfil their responsibilities to the judiciary, in an ever-evolving justice system. We provide operational

support, policy, legal and handling advice through a number of specialist teams.

The judicial Office was established following the Constitutional Reform Act 2005, to support the Lord Chief Justice as Head of the Judiciary in his statutory and other leadership and administrative functions. It delivers a wide range of functions for the senior judiciary and to more than 20,000 judicial office holders including legal and policy advice, communications, international, training (through the Judicial College), human resources, welfare, library and information services. Through the independent Judicial Conduct Investigations Office, we deal with complaints about the conduct of judicial officeholders. The Judicial Office also provides support to the Chief Coroner and to the

Judge Advocate General and supports the Lord Chancellor on certain of his judiciary-related

functions.

The Job

Reporting directly to the Head of Judicial Communications, you will work across the communications team to lead on high-profile campaigns as well as develop content for the judicial website and intranet.

The Judicial Communications team are responsible for providing information via a range of communication channels to all judges and magistrates. They are also responsible for managing the external website and associated content aimed at the general public. As part of this you will be expected to take special responsibility for particular areas, such as promoting the diversity of the judiciary and campaigns aimed at educating younger audiences about the judiciary.

You will be expected to work closely with the campaigns lead in the press office, and oversee the social media lead to ensure all activity is co-ordinated and integrated across all our channels. You will also be expected to suggest innovative new campaign and content ideas and lead on their implementation.

The campaigns and content creation are a mix of low cost/no-cost and you will be expected to deliver engaging material that raises awareness of the judiciary but also meets user needs.

The successful candidate will:

Manage the Digital (Social Media) Officer
Identify opportunities for delivering campaign activity, and achieving objectives, by making use of a range of external channels in a strategic manner
Lead on the implementation of a number of existing campaigns and related content and ensure their effective delivery
Produce and edit engaging written and filmed content for the external website
Ensure content on the website is up to date, relevant and engaging
Provide advice on language and tone in campaign and content materials
Work closely with the press team, HR team and other relevant JO staff to deliver messages across channels and extend our reach to target audiences
Manage the gathering of and make use of insight in the development of campaigns and content for the website
Manage campaigns to time, and on budget, focusing on delivering the agreed campaign objectives
Evaluate and report campaign and content progress and outcomes
Work with external suppliers and design agencies to design and deliver content where appropriate
Participate in the social media out of hours rota, for which an additional allowance is paid.
Skills & Qualifications

Required
The successful candidate must:

Possess creativity and keenness to develop and deliver innovative, low and no cost communication campaigns, using digital and offline channels
Have experience of creating and delivering engaging content for digital platforms
Have experience of delivering low cost/no cost campaigns
Have strong oral and written communication skills
Desirable

Experience of working in the field of justice

Experience of project management
