Part-Time Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I’m a man in my early 50’s living in a flat near Pontypridd town centre. I have Huntington’s disease and require assistance with transport and practical help while attending my weekly sessions at a centre. My speech and memory is affected by my illness, although I still enjoy a good conversation and am sociable.
I enjoy playing pool and watching rugby/football, movies and box sets. If the weather is good I’ll go out on my scooter and enjoy spending time with good company. I attend Sandville in Porthcawl every Thursday where I enjoy the hydrotherapy pool and the gym.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To take me to and from the Sandville Self Help Foundation in Kenfig.
HOURS OF WORK
6 hours per week Thursday only
RATES OF PAY
£14.00 per hour
40p mileage when you use your car
TASKS WILL INCLUDE
Driving me to and from the Sandville Self Help Foundation in Kenfig
Assisting with changing before and after hydrotherapy pool sessions
Supporting me to take part in the gym, mobility classes, and any other activities available at the centre
Joining in activities where appropriate
Offering encouragement and companionship throughout the day
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Caring, patient, and understanding nature
Reliable and punctual
Experience supporting individuals with mobility or neurological conditions is helpful but not essential
Must be available every Thursday
A car owner/driver who is willing to use car for work purposes/take me on outings
ABOUT THE JOB
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.
All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.
Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
Wages will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
