Up to £40,000 per annum + Tips & Bonus
Benefits & Perks
• Competitive salary up to £40,000 p/a + tips & bonus
• Profit share scheme
• Service charge distribution
• Opportunity for menu collaboration & specials creation
• Staff discounts across the group
• Access to training and apprenticeships programmes

We’re recruiting for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen at a traditional destination pub in Colne, Lancashire. This busy site averages around 500 covers per week and is also a popular venue for functions – from weddings and sit-down banquets through to buffets for wakes and private events.
The menu is focused on quality pub classics and seafood dishes, and you’ll have scope to shape the offer alongside the management team. The venue is seasonal with peaks in trade, and the wider group is working to develop year-round business.
This could be a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef ready to step up into a senior leadership role, as well as for an established Head Chef looking for a fresh challenge.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring smooth service and consistent quality.
• Oversee menu planning, GP control, stock management and supplier relationships.
• Deliver high standards across both the pub menu and function catering (banquets, weddings, buffets).
• Recruit, train and motivate a small kitchen team.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene and health & safety requirements.
• Work closely with management to grow trade and develop the food offering.
What We’re Looking For
• An established Head Chef, or a strong Sous Chef with leadership ambitions.
• Experience in both high-volume pub kitchens and banqueting/conference-style catering.
• Passion for cooking with fresh, quality ingredients – especially seafood and traditional dishes.
• A hands-on leader who can inspire and manage a team effectively.
• Strong commercial understanding – margins, GP, and stock control.
• Flexibility and resilience to thrive in a seasonal environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a busy kitchen in a respected local venue, with the support of an ambitious group behind you.
