This is a great opportunity to join our friendly pharmacy team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton. The department is progressive, supportive and provides ample opportunities for growth and development.

You will be a key member of the multidisciplinary Frail Elderly Assessment Team (FEAT) and Acute Medicine teams at the Royal Derby Hospital. You will be working alongside other clinicians whilst providing an enhanced clinical pharmacy service and utilising independent prescribing skills to assist the team to ensure high quality, safe and timely management of patients.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a supportive, friendly and approachable team of dedicated advanced clinical pharmacists & technicians. We are a pro-active team; encourage research and personal development and most recently, the team was a 2024 finalist for the HSJ Patient Safety Awards.

You will work collaboratively with the MDT and the well established pharmacy teams working in the admissions areas. We are also actively involved in training and education of pharmacy and non-pharmacy staff. We aim to provide the best care for our patients and fully support our team members personal development to achieve this.

This is a split post with roughly 50% of time spent working within the FEAT team and 50% of time with the acute medicine team.

We look forward to receiving your applications and meeting you.

• Help support quality, safety and timeliness of prescribing at discharge and to facilitate effective communication of medication changes to GPs and primary care teams.
• Provide pharmacy cover to the admissions areas as necessary.
• To assist the Divisional Lead Pharmacist to recruit, develop and motivate staff to maximise performance and delivery of service objectives.
