About the role

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location(s): Flexible – can be based at any of our workspaces in Bristol, Tewkesbury, Wolverhampton or Lichfield

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Surveying Manager to lead our team of stock condition and specialist damp & mould surveyors. This role is central to ensuring our homes are safe, compliant, and fit for the future.

You will oversee the completion of 100% stock condition surveys within the required 5-year cycle, while also ensuring timely and effective responses to property hazards such as disrepair, condensation, damp, and mould (CD&M). You’ll play a key role in planning, prioritising, and supporting your team’s workload to ensure we meet the requirements of Awaab’s Law, always keeping our customers’ safety and wellbeing at the heart of what we do.

Working closely with colleagues across Asset Management, Service Delivery, and the Investment Team, you’ll make sure hazards are properly assessed and addressed, whether through emergency repairs, planned investment, or specialist contractor works. You will also lead on quality assurance, auditing survey outputs, supporting training for colleagues, and helping us to continuously improve the way we deliver for customers.

Join Bromford, part of Bromford Flagship, and become part of a leading housing provider delivering community-focused services across the Midlands and South West — all backed by the scale and ambition of the Bromford Flagship group.

  • Strong technical knowledge of building regulations, building pathology, and housing compliance.
  • In-depth understanding of the Decent Homes Standard, disrepair law, and HHSRS assessments.
  • Experience of managing stock condition surveys, diagnosing property hazards, and working with contractors.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, contractors, and regulators.
  • A collaborative approach, building strong relationships internally and externally, with a focus on delivering positive outcomes for customers.

Additional requirements

  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel regularly across our geography.
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of the role and a track record of reliability.
  • Ability to complete a Basic DBS check.

  • Company car or cash allowance alternative
  • Personal benefits fund: £500 annual allowance for benefits such as private medical insurance, dental treatment, critical illness cover, or gym membership
  • Annual leave: 27 days per year, plus bank holidays, with an option to buy or sell up to 5 days
  • Pension options: Choose from two pension schemes, with employer contributions of up to 10%
  • Life Assurance
