Shift pattern rotating over AM/PM/Nights
Independent Forgings and Alloys (IFA), one of the UK’s leading independent aerospace and industrial forgers, are currently seeking Skilled Machinists to join our team.
In accordance with best practice, our Machinists set up machines and work accurately to customer requirements. Able to read engineering drawings, you’ll inspect and check machined components and keep workstation within the parameters of 5S. Where possible, you’ll work on two machines in tandem and follow and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
What are we looking for?
You’ll be a fully skilled machinist, able to work on own initiative and display competence and accuracy in machining processes including work handling and take responsibility for personal health and safety.
With a recognised Craft Apprenticeship, you’ll be able to use measuring equipment, read engineering drawings and be able to programme, set and operate CNC lathes and vertical borers.

We are unique due to the combination of open and closed-die forging while also undertaking the whole production process from raw material to the finished product in one location
