REGIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER
Salary: £47,500 - £51,500 per annum
Working Hours: Full-Time, Permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday between 8am and 5pm
Location: Home Based with travel
We're looking for a Regional Health and Safety Manager to join G4S Facilities Management on a full time, permanent basis. This role will be responsible for providing high quality H&S advice and services, driving continual improvement of the H&S performance and culture within G4S Facilities Management.
This role requires managing contracts spanning from Manchester to London, with both scheduled and ad-hoc site visits. The ideal candidate must be able to commute to and from London easily, without needing overnight accommodation. We anticipate the role will have a 60/40 split, with the majority of work being home-based.
Travel expenses will be claimable
Responsibilities
Develop and implement H&S policies: Create, implement, and maintain the company's health and safety policies and strategies to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
Act as an H&S expert: Advise the business on a range of specialized facilities management (FM) areas, serving as the go-to "Competent Person" for H&S matters.
Manage team and performance: Lead a team of H&S professionals, monitor performance at both site and sector levels, and produce monthly reports for operational directors.
Identify and address H&S gaps: Help pinpoint gaps in H&S and training needs. Develop and deliver training packages as needed to improve performance.
Investigate incidents and foster improvement: Monitor and assist with incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Develop incident and audit trend analyses for continuous improvement.
Conduct audits and site visits: Perform internal audits and scheduled or ad-hoc site visits to monitor H&S compliance.
Manage systems and software: Act as an administrator for H&S software systems (e.g., IE2, Sypol, Simple Compliance, Safety Culture).
Communicate and collaborate: Create and distribute H&S communications, such as bulletins and toolbox talks. Attend and contribute to H&S meetings, both internal and with clients.
Lead external liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for client H&S escalations, present on H&S performance at client meetings, and liaise with regulatory bodies like the HSE.
Maintain ISO 45001 certification: Manage the company's ISO 45001 certified Occupational Health & Safety Management System, including leading external audits and managing resulting actions.
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who
Has NEBOSH National General Certificate
Has IOSH Membership (TechIOSH or above)
Is Experienced in technical fire safety or fire engineering
Has a Membership in a professional fire body (e.g., IFE, bTIFireE)
Is Familiar with ISO 45001
Has experience conducting OHSMS audits
Is Self-motivated, approachable, and an excellent communicator
Has a Full UK Driving Licence
Has line management experience
Is able to travel within the UK as required by the business
