Summary
Purpose
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Entra Engineer to join our IT Security and Infrastructure team. This role will focus on the design, implementation, and management of Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and related identity and access management (IAM) solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Entra ID, conditional access policies, identity governance, and integration with Microsoft 365 and third-party applications.
The Entra Engineer maintains the Stark network and security environments by adhering to and supporting Stark IT policies and procedures, and recommends process changes that improve the implementation, maintenance and support of Stark’s IT Infrastructure.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Assist with the design, implementation, monitoring, and support of Entra and Intune development to support the group. This includes, but is not limited to: Microsoft Entra, Azure, Intune, On-prem AD, Sharepoint, OneDrive, 365 licencing, Autopilot and Copilot.
- Assist with the creation, implementation and maintenance of standard operating procedures for equipment installation, configuration support, and group network operations which improve service and repeatability.
- Participation in and support of group and facility-level technical implementation projects.
- Provides 24x7 on-call support based on group IT staff rotation, to assist with troubleshooting, coordination, escalation, and resolution of network or security-based incidents, equipment failures, etc.
- Participates in IT project planning, as needed.
- Effectively works with group and corporate IT personnel to ensure that group priorities and standards are achieved. This includes, but is not limited to: Customer Support, corporate Cloud Engineering, corporate Security, and external vendors to support group and facility operations.
- Communicates and escalates incidents and requests beyond scope of ability to senior service resources.
- Coordinates and participates in regular group-wide meetings and workshops with facility technical staff to ensure timely transfer of knowledge which impacts Stark-approved network architecture and security policies.
- Participates in meetings, committees and continuing education to improve individual, departmental and organizational performance.
- Aids and trains users on proper use of group and/or facility technology.
- Adheres to and supports Stark IT standards, policies and procedures.
- Participate in regular training/ learning activities to maintain and develop skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to all Stark policies, procedures and working practices.
- Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by what you do; use work equipment provided safely and co-operate with managers to provide safe systems of work.

Person Specification, Competencies & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems is preferred.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Entra ID / Azure Active Directory.
- Strong understanding of identity protocols (SAML, OAuth2, OpenID Connect).
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, and Defender for Identity.
- Experience with M365 Authentication and Access, M365 AADConnect and M365 User/Domain management
- Synchronization of entities between On-Premise and Cloud Directories
- Experience of Intune, Autopilot, Sharepoint, OneDrive
- Knowledge of Access Management technologies such MFA, Conditional Access, Device, and application management
- Knowledge of troubleshooting issues related to Azure AD, ADFS, MFA, conditional access, Application proxy, etc.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Identity technologies in enterprise IT environments
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API and Entra Workload Identities.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and principles.
- Working knowledge Cloud compute, storage and networking
- Experience with identity governance and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
