Are you an NMC registered nurse with experience of working in mental health looking for a new role within Forensic Services?
We are recruiting for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join out team at HMP Grendon and Springhill near Aylesbury, which is a Category B prison, operating as a therapeutic community for approximately 240 men.
Oxford Health Foundation Trust Forensic Service is developing and delivering a new integrated model of mental health care for men in prisons across the region. We are looking for forward thinking, innovative, creative, compassionate and thoughtful senior mental health nurse who will be able to offer a wide range of interventions to our patient group.
You'll be managing a caseload of patients in a person-centred way to plan, deliver and evaluate care, whilst being supported by a well-resourced multidisciplinary team. You'll have the opportunity to develop your own practice, and support others to develop theirs, in partnership with primary health care providers and prison staff.

Main duties of the job- Provide mental health interventions to service users within the prison establishment.
- Responsible for managing a caseload, including the assessment, planning, delivery of interventions and review of care of patients located within the prison with a mental illness, within the framework of the multi-disciplinary team and Care Programme Approach.
- Work as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary, multi-agency team to provide advice and support to primary health care based within the prison, and to liaise with and provide advice and support to, statutory and non-statutory agencies.
- Support the team manager in delivering identified objectives in terms of patient care, staff and service development.

Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria- Current NMC registration
- Experience in field of criminal justice
- Experience of providing specialist interventions for those with mental health problems
- Experience of developing and delivering group work.
- Ability to undertake mandatory training
