The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a timber prep operative to join our client in the Doncaster area. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a manufacturing/woodworking environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.The ideal candidates must be looking for permanent work as this is a full time position. Pay: £12.75 per hour
Working hours:
Monday to Wednesday 06:00 - 16:00
Thursday 06:00 - 15:00
Specific Duties:
· Cut material on the CNC Machine in line with build schedule requirements.
· Report nesting errors to Supervisor and Technical office.
· Keep the CNC Machine maintained, report any problems and keep area clean and tidy.
· Cut Softwood kits in the saw area in line with build schedule requirements.
· Keep the Wood Machine area clean and tidy.
· Manufacture "in house" parts in line with build schedule requirements.
· Work only to works orders / panel request forms.
· Produce parts to the correct specification in line with technical drawings and works orders.
· Report drawing and quality issues to supervisor and technical office.
· Ensure completed parts are stored correctly.
· Ensure completed works orders are checked and passed to stores.
· Monitor "RAW" stock levels and re-order as required.
· Responsible for the completion of all relevant paperwork
· Carry out instructions from Supervisors and team leaders.
· Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
· Maintain safe and clean machinery.
· Carry out duties in line with Health and Safety requirements and make supervisor aware of potential Health & Safety issues.
· Log on and off correct SFDC operation in line with company policy.
· Adhere to relevant ISO / QMS process
Requirements:
· Previous experience in a timber or manufacturing environment preferred, but not essential - training will be provided.
· Good attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Successful candidates need to be flexible. Have a thorough understanding and knowledge of practices and terminology of the timber area and machinery. Have good IT skills and an understanding of industry IT programs such as Solidworks PDM, Genio, Panel Mac and Xilog.
