Crynodeb
To provide this high-quality service, the Court Assistant will assume the following responsibilities:
Prepare case file for Pre-Trial Preparation Hearings (PTPH), trial or sentencing process.
Obtain all contacts details for the parties attending all hearings.
Record and bookmark court proceedings using the Digital Audio Recording system (DAR), under the supervision of the Deputy Court Officer.
Prepare court personalities for all cases and upload to Case Center.
Prepare the dockets for all cases and upload to DAR.
Prepare sentencing paperwork.
Produce nominal rolls, including room allocations for each case.
To order and reconcile the daily lunches when courts are sitting.
Ensure board members retiring room are prepared in preparation for the following assize and both Court Rooms.
To meet and greet the board members each Monday, ensuring they are escorted to the appropriate rooms upon arrival.
Assist with the completion and distribution of post-trial paperwork.
Create and distribute Medio or Microsoft Team links (as appropriate) for all hearings, sentencing and witnesses for trial.
Assist the Deputy Court Officer with facilitating the virtual links in court as and when required including Section 85’s.
Assist the Deputy Court Officer in arranging the attendance of any defence witnesses
Brief and familiarise weekly Court Administration Teams on their duties, court layout and procedure.
Archive hardcopy paperwork back to Court Administration Unit (CAU) and close case on Case Center.
Publish and display Public Notices in conjunction with other Court Assistants.
Ensure a court vehicle is available each week.
Test and update court equipment as per the agreed schedule.
General Office Duties including ordering stationery via CP&F. Deal with various aspects of building maintenance and Health and Safety.
Assist the Court Officer and Deputy Court Officer with routine tasks.
Deputise for the Deputy Court Officer when absent.
Assume the fellow Court Assistant role when absent.
Complete mandatory and further development training.
