We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our wellintegratedteam.Thispost isdesignedtostrengthenboth the trauma and elective services, delivered across the RVI and Freeman hospitals. Thesuccessfulcandidatewilljoinateamof14 Consultants providing comprehensive orthopaedic trauma services at the Major Trauma Centre, at the Royal VictoriaInfirmary, and will also have elective foot and ankle sessions at the Freeman Hospital. The Freeman Hospital provides a regional, specialist foot and ankle service, with access to it’s own gait analysis laboratory.

Thispost isdesignedtostrengthenboth the trauma and elective services, delivered across the RVI and Freeman hospitals. Thesuccessfulcandidatewilljoinateamof14 Consultants providing comprehensive orthopaedic trauma services at the Major Trauma Centre, at the Royal VictoriaInfirmary, and will also have elective sessions at the Freeman Hospital.

These include a range of flagship services which deliver cutting-edge care (supported by state-of-the-art diagnostic services in both radiology and pathology) and are a catalyst for innovation to support pioneering clinical practice in the NHS.

· Thesuccessfulcandidatewilljointheexistingorthopaedictrauma‘on-call’rotaattheRoyalVictoriaInfirmary.ThiswillinvolvemakingupateamoffourConsultants,eachdoingone‘on-call’weekday(duringwhichthe team fracture clinics takeplace) every fourweeks,followed byan all-daytraumalistonthefollowing day. In addition, the successful candidate will be ‘on-call’ for orthopaedic trauma oneweekendin14.

· The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a special interest in the use of circular frames within the field of orthopaedictrauma,tocomplementtheexistingsurgeonswithintheteam.

· The successful candidate will be required to provide an elective foot and ankle surgery service atFreemanHospital.

· Participateinaudit andclinicalgovernance.

· Showacommitmenttocontinuingprofessionaldevelopment.

· Participateinannualappraisal(forrevalidation)andintheannualjob planningprocess.

· Work with and support all members of the clinical team in the Emergency Department, in out-patient andfractureclinics,intheoperatingtheatresandonthewards.
